I found the list easy to start and then a little challenging to finish. I actually delayed writing about one just trying to decide which to choose. Interestingly, I decided I would write about both. Why choose if you don’t have to? As it turns out I had more to say about why I have been taking art classes and why it brings me joy and I took up all the space just for that. I will simply write about the other topic in my notebook. Who knows how long that will be!

Thanks for sharing your process, Jennifer. I think it’s so common that at first we’re inclined to follow the rules. Giving ourselves permission to do whatever in response to a prompt is very freeing!

I’m enjoying the joy of writing journal immensely. I like that the lists serve as a prompts, and that I get to choose. I’m on quarantine, so it’s the perfect time to start the journal, and make writing part of my daily life.
